I recently purchased a remote RF 64 wireless presenter from you. First I want to say that I love it and that it actually works better than advertised. I will be using it in a clear line of sight situation at my church. When I tested it with fresh batteries, it worked from at least 120 feet away. I wasn't able to test it any further. It is an amazing device. It has incredible functionality, is lightweight and fits comfortably in the hand. ... Thanks again for an excellent product and for fast and reasonable shipping and pricing.
The PROMOTE RF allows you to take your presentation without your computer. I would like to know how this works. Do I have to store the PowerPoint presenter on the portable drive?
Your PowerPoint presentation needs to be tranferred to the Flash RAM of the receiver. Just insert this Flash RAM/receiver into a USB port and your computer recognizes it as a hard drive. From there the operation is like any other hard drive, except at the end of the operation you can take it out of the USB port and insert it into another computer and access it. The computer you use has to have PowerPoint or the PowerPoint viewer software; if it doesn't, you can load the PowerPoint viewer software into the PROMOTE RF 64's Flash RAM.
Can you use the PROMOTE RF with something other than PowerPoint presentations?
The device has the functionality of a mouse (when it is in mouse mode), which means that most all of the functions that one performs with a mouse can be performed with the PROMOTE RF. There is also a keyboard mode that is selectable with the flick of a switch. In this mode, the "up" and "down" buttons emulate "Page Down" and "Page Up". This advances to the next slide and returns to the previous slide on a PowerPoint presentation. The left and right buttons will launch the PowerPoint presentation from development mode to presentation mode and blank the screen at the click of a button.
How does the remote mouse work?
The Radio Frequency technology permits one to point the mouse in any direction and still control the mouse function. You will see the cursor move on the screen just as you usually do. There is a cluster of 4 buttons on the PROMOTE RF that controls the cursor: up, down, right, and left. With the touch of a finger, you can move the cursor up, down, right, or left, or by touching two buttons at once, you can move the cursor up&left, up&right, down&left, or down&right. It is really quite simple, and most users get the hang of it right away.
Can I capture the mouse movements during the presentation?
The PROMOTE RF does not capture mouse movements.
Most types of remote mouse only work on a flat surface. Is this true of the PROMOTE RF?
The PROMOTE RF is designed to be held in the palm of your hand; it will work up to 100 feet from the Flash RAM receiver.
What is the extent of the PROMOTE RF detecting area?
The PROMOTE RF is rated to within 100 feet without any directional problem, by radio frequency transmission.
Can the PROMOTE RF be used with a keyboard or a mouse at the same time?
You can use the PROMOTE RF with a keyboard and/or a mouse because the RF 64 uses the USB Port.
Does the PROMOTE RF support only MS PowerPoint?
The PROMOTE RF has basic functions: "Page Up", "Page Down", "Arrow Up", and "Arrow Down". You can control Acrobat Reader, ACDSee, and other programs for presentations as well as MS PowerPoint without any software.
What type of battery is used in the PROMOTE RF?
Two 1.5V AAA batteries are used in the PROMOTE RF. You can use the laser pointer continuously for 10 hours. Depending on how often the laser is used, the battery life may differ. Changing slides consumes less power than using the laser.
